Before you report a problem in our forum, switch on the Sobi2 debug mode, repeat the failing action (e.g. upload an image) and check the error messages. In the most cases you will find the reason for the problem there. The complete Sobi2 debug functionality is available since version RC 2.6.1 of Sobi2. If Sobi2 debug is switched on, an error log file will be written in case of problems. You can view the error log file in Sobi2 Administration Panel. Sobi2 Administration->About->Error Logfile. The file is stored in /administrator/components/com_sobi2/error_logfile.txt To switch on the debug function or to change the debug level, go to Sobi2 Administration->General Configuration->Debug. Set "Debug Level" to "All Error, Warnings and Notices" and leave "Display Errors" on "No". Setting "Display Errors" to "Yes" will output all messages to the screen instead of writing them to the error log file. Use this only for severe PHP errors which cannot be logged into the file. After you set the debug mode to on you have to repeat the failing situation. Severe PHP errors cannot be logged by Sobi2. If you have a severe error, normally your page isn't loaded completely. It results in an empty page or a nearly empty page. In these cases go to Sobi2 Administration->General Configuration->Debug and set "Display Errors" to "Yes". Now the errors are shown directly on your site. If you still can't see an error, your provider has disabled errors at all. In this case check the error log files of the server. |
