Hi,
First of all I got to say that it is a great script and it saves a lot of time. Compliments to developers.
I am having the same problem though. Sobi clones fine and it seems functional but it shows the same name under menu in joomla components "Sigsiu Online Business Index 2".
Using:
Joomla! 1.5.11/1.5.12
SOBI2 - com_sobi2-RC2.9.2.1.j15
PHP Version 5.2.9
Btw is it possible to get the script to clone the SOBI2 menu module and ratings/reviews,download,report listing plugins.
Much appreciated.

Workaround: before creating zip for installation edit file: languages/en-GB.com_haus.menu.ini and change Sigsiu Online Business Index 2 in following line to whatever you like

COM_MYSUPERSOBI2CLONE = Sigsiu Online Business Index 2

After that create zip and install your clone of sobi2. Enjoy your very own component name  ;)

Edit: So did I. After rethinking, you should find language ini file even after installation in appropriate ftp folder, so there is no need to reinstall with new name…

Edit2: Just got my mail with sended Serverinformations back because there is not an recipient with name mysupersobi2clone@sigsiu.net…

Ok I'm stuck...

Does this work with 2.9.2.2 ?

I cannot get it to work.

I can run the script (on my host) it renames all the files ok, there are no errors in the script. I can create an archive, yet when I try and install it in Joomla (1.5.14) all it says is:

There was an error uploading this file to the server.

No error logs are updated on my server, so I'm a bit stuck.

I'm creating  'suppliers' as the component name and 'Sobi2 - Suppliers' as the menu item.

Any help appreciated.

I tried to clone RC2.9.2.2.  It did not change many of the file names so I manually changed them, but now I am getting the following error when I try to install the clone:Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in ..../libraries/joomla/application/module/helper.php on line 145

Is this fixable?  If not what is the most recent version of SOBI2 that can be successfully cloned with the clone script?

I am trying to clone Sobi2 version 2.9.0.2. I have windows and I am using CYGWIN and when I go threw the process of cloning I get to part where it asks me to enter a clone name. I enter my clone name and then it gives me this:

rm: cannot remove 'tempfile': No Such file or directory

Can anyone help?

Thanks ahead of time.

I am having this exact same problem! I am using Windows vista & CYGWIN. How can I fix this?

Hi Neo

Followed your instructions to the "T" but when I tried to install I received:

        * Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "/home/XXXXXXX/public_html/clone/components/com_sobi2"
        * Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "/home/XXXXXXX/public_html/clone/administrator/components/com_sobi2"

//edit

On CentOS as root

Think you said you wanted ot see this

Usage: mv [OPTION]... [-T] SOURCE DEST
  or:  mv [OPTION]... SOURCE... DIRECTORY
or:  mv [OPTION]... -t DIRECTORY SOURCE...
Rename SOURCE to DEST, or move SOURCE(s) to DIRECTORY.

Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options too.
--backup[=CONTROL]       make a backup of each existing destination file
-b                           like --backup but does not accept an argument
-f, --force                  do not prompt before overwriting
  -i, --interactive            prompt before overwrite
--strip-trailing-slashes remove any trailing slashes from each SOURCE
                                 argument
-S, --suffix=SUFFIX          override the usual backup suffix
-t, --target-directory=DIRECTORY  move all SOURCE arguments into DIRECTORY
-T, --no-target-directory    treat DEST as a normal file
-u, --update                 move only when the SOURCE file is newer
than the destination file or when the
                                 destination file is missing
-v, --verbose                explain what is being done
--help     display this help and exit
--version  output version information and exit

The backup suffix is `~', unless set with --suffix or SIMPLE_BACKUP_SUFFIX.
The version control method may be selected via the --backup option or through
the VERSION_CONTROL environment variable.  Here are the values:

none, off       never make backups (even if --backup is given)
  numbered, t     make numbered backups
existing, nil   numbered if numbered backups exist, simple otherwise
simple, never   always make simple backups
