Hello to anyone who has got this working!

I have followed every single step exactly as the local install in the video but on trying to install the component in to Joomla I'm getting this error:

JInstaller::install: File '/tmp/install_498878d97d3c9/clone dir.class.php' does not exist.

Up until that point everything happened exactly as it did in the video in the first post.  Any advice would be appreciated.

to JMarS...

I can only see that you named your clone 'clone dir' with the space in the name. You mustn't use spaces. Call it 'clone_dir' or 'clone-dir'. Try that.

Could I please come back to the problem I have and others in this forum seem to have, too:

The cloning just doesn't work, I have no clue how to solve the two main problems:
- the script runs perfectly when executed in linux (knoppix in my case), but in the end, there is no clone and no files with the new name (not like in master neo's video, where all files are named "sobidir")
- installing fails with an "no xml setup file"-error (I tried to install the files that run through sobi_clone.sh and renamed manually...)

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

For everyone using Windows...

I checked the solution someone posted here as an software that makes Linux environment on Windows. The software is here: http://www.cygwin.com/

It worked for me! 
After installation you can fallow the steps from video that NEO placed at the beginning of this post.

I have just one question now. How many cloned Sobi components can one Joomla! installation have? Is there a way for website crushes or website become overloaded? (By this one I mean if one Joomla! installation has several Sobi clones - up to 10).

I try to install a clone, and the bash script appears to work properly, with the Sobis being changed to my new clone name.

But, I get the following error...

Code: [Select]

File /home/dcguides/public_html/desertcitiespets.com/media/install_498bc05b1c370/templates/default/dcpbus.details.tmpl.php does not exist!
All the component/com_myCloneName root files appear, and all the folders are created, but no additional files are upload, and the admin files and folders are not uploaded.

The above fail message appears.

Any ideas???

Guys and Girls, I am not a programmer in the very least. I just want a couple of ready clones of SOBI2 that I can download and install. I have checked countless links to "clones" but the links are all outdated and have not found what I need. If you have a couple (ideally 3) clones of SOBI2 and a kind soul, please let me know so I can download them and get on with what really interests me which is webcontent. I'll leave the technical stuff to those who are better than me at it.

about the 1.8

when i install the clones with the component zip file it says :
about the 8.7.2 version
tried it but have a problem with that one

cannot find xml file

but it is within the zip -- i have checked ??

about the last two versions ....
RC 2.9.1.0   

the install functions but it last ages for the component to install ?
and when editing the component same problem
something is not right with that one

Yuu Huu. Finally got this clone sorted.
For anyone who's having problem using Bash Script from Neo should try it manually following instruction from gwmbox (http://www.sigsiu.net/forum/index.php/topic,13415.0.html) by using dreamweaver and file renamer.

I have tried bash script from neo (thanks neo), it works fine for the cloned component but keep having problem installing all its cloned plugin... not sure what happen (I'm sure I have followed all the instruction properly) 

Then I decided to do it manually from gwmbox post as above link, and it works fine when I installed all the cloned plugin.
Thanks again gwmbox... anyone having problem with their sobiclone can use mine as attached here since I know how much time I tried before I get this right. just to save your time and contribute back to this great forum.
