Hi Mark!

thank you for your great support and testing system. I willl welcome if Trinity or Neo will have time on this, they can test it on my website.
In fact this is for me really big limitation, but it is probably not so difficult to fix.
In terms of bug/issue  priority I would mark this one as high.

This will most probably affect anybody working with Sobi2, Sobisef and using menu items  (every avarage website has menu to categories).

Mark what is the usual response time of Sobi 2 team? Where is the place with bugfix report - where I can see progress, status?

I will wait for this fix to use sobi 2 and its great capabilities.
Hopefully I will introduce you my final website soon :).

Have a nice weekend.

Regards,
Pavol

Not necessarily, since this the cause of this bug is still not clear to me. I was able to reproduce the problem using your test web site, but I did not try all different combination's of category and sobi2 entry configuration. (For example I have another test web site which uses Joomla! Menu Items linked to SOBI2 categories and sub-categories, but it does not have the problem).
It may also be related to your Joomla! version (1.5.15) since the SobiSEF plugin is essential a Joomla! router.php file.
I suspect it is not a Joomla! version issue.
But I agree this is a significant problem and I am surprised that it was not been found previously.

In terms of bug/issue  priority I would mark this one as high.
I do not disagree, but there is no mechanism for me to prioritize potential bug reports

what is the usual response time of Sobi 2 team?
Unknown, sometimes Trinity/Neo mark a potential bug report as 'confirmed' in which case it has been accepted as a bug rather than a configuration issue.

Where is the place with bugfix report
Refer SobiSEF plugin RC 1.6/1.7 not creating required sub-sub-category External URL's

where I can see progress, status?
Nowhere that I know of. But I would suggest subscribing to the topic SobiSEF plugin RC 1.6/1.7 not creating required sub-sub-category External URL's by clicking on the 'Notify' tab so at least you will be alerted of any additional postings to that topic.
Sometimes Trinity/Neo modify the Title of the topic to include "Confirmed" in the Title, other times they just add  "SOLVED" and the version number of the SOBI2 Component/Plugin/Module in which a bugfix has been implemented.

Hi Mark,

thanks for explanation. Yes, it can be anything, but I assume that it is a bug at least on latest versions (joomla / sobi2 / sobisef). I tested it on Joomla 1.5.17, localhost and issue was the same.

My online testing version is using only pure installation of Joomla, JoomlaArt template and Sobi 2 with sobisef...as you know.

Ok I will add notification to Refer SobiSEF plugin RC 1.6/1.7 not creating required sub-sub-category External URL's and we will see.

Thank you!

Because Trinity has not yet moved the posting SobiSEF plugin RC 1.6/1.7 not creating required sub-sub-category External URL's, we can assume that it has either not yet been investigated or it is under investigation.

I have just received a PM from Trinity who is pretty sure that SobiSEF plugin RC 1.6/1.7 not creating required sub-sub-category External URL's is a real bug. Unfortunately Neo is the only one who understands the details of the SobiSEF plugin code and he is currently very busy working on SobiPro and Joomla! 1.6. It may be sometime before he can work on this SobiSEF plugin bug.

Hi Mark,

thank you for informing me. At least it is good that now it is known and it will be sometimes fixed. In the meantime I decided
to use 5 clones in my sobi website (already experimenting). This way I can reorganize my structure to have less nested categories (at least I won't go to 3rd level subcategory, but second - where it is working).

I want to start new website quickly, otherwise I would wait for sobi pro.

Sobi PRO looks promising, hopefully production version will be availlable same time next year :).

Regards,
Pavol
