Use the SOBI extended menu to create menu links to SOBI special tasks like the add entry or search form or to user listings, most popular, latest, recently updated listings or to most popular listings and categories. Without the definition of menu item links to special tasks SOBI creates links to the special tasks using the component menu ID. So the search and add entry function will get menu ID 53 in our example.
As the category links, define internal links to SOBI special tasks in the Joomla! Menu Item Manager. Create a new menu link to Sigsiu Online Businesss Index 2 and select the task for which you will create a menu item link. We select Search Function to create a menu link to SOBI search. We call this menu item Search the Directory. We create also a second link to the SOBI add entry menu. Therefore we select Add Entry Form. We call this menu item Add an Entry.
In this way you can create menu item links to each SOBI special function task. Each special task will get its own menu ID. In our example the search function will get menu ID 57 and the link to the add entry form will get menu ID 58.
This results in the following front-end menu:
If we create menu links, SOBI uses the menu IDs of these links for the SOBI header menu and also in the tree menu module.
What are the benefits of having separate menu items to SOBI special tasks?
In the same way you can add menu links to all other special SOBI tasks which are available in the Joomla! Menu Item Manager. |
