you used to be able to import a list, is that what the INI definition file is? If so does anyone have a US states drop down file and country drop down file for these fields?  Thank you, Cheryl

This is U.S. states drop down list, but I am not sure if this is what you are looking for. It will give you an Idea on how the INI file works though. You just upload it into a field type. It can be a single field type or multifield type.

I'm working on some ini files for states, provinces and countries. What format do I need to save them in? I've tried wordpad and notepad. (I'm working in Windows). If I save a txt file in notepad using ANSI format, nothing happens when I upload the file. If I save to UTF-8 or Unicode formats, the fields end up looking like this: Alberta

Ok, drum roll: The answer is: UTF-8 And one other nugget: If you are trying to create a list of states and provinces that includes Ontario (short form: ON) you must use another abbreviation because: Quote
Please note, these words cannot be used as option values: null, yes, no, true, false, on, off, none (case insensitive).
http://sobipro.sigsiu.net/documentation/section-settings/148-Using-an-INI-Definition-File I'm attaching a list of Canadian Provinces and American States. Add Mexico and you'll have North America covered.[attachurl=1]

Tony apparently has provided a states ini file, but I don't see any attachment or file to download. Am I missing something?

Sorry, but while transferring the old SMF forum data to the new application, the attachments are lost.
