Hi Maximus,

Currently there is no option to import and/or export from SOBI/EXCELL

There is another thread in the forum that has a script which can perform this task however as to weather it is stable I do not know, Requires you to basically Setup another DB within MYSQL and imports from this DB into SOBI , does require a bit of study in order to get it running , and due to being very busy myself I have not had a chance to test it.

no guarantees but it looks stable and in theory should work fine , have russelled over the code and it seems to do as it sez.

Wicks.

Sobi database where?
« Reply #15 on: 17. December 2006, 22:09:10 »
I was delighted when I discovered this component for Joomla because it could help me solve a problem for a client. They have a 100+ member database of professionals that members update themselves when it comes to various personal details. This database is also used for mailings...

Now after looking at Sobi2 carefully I have not been able to find a way to export the database nor import it. Is there an easy work-around for this? I would really like to implement Sobi2 but only if I am sure it can be done. Please advise me in how to handle this issue.

The database does not reside in a directory - it's a database!

You gain access to it using a program like phpMyAdmin.

Would be great to get an import fuction just to import to the database from excell and .csv.
Another great function is that it would also be great to get export to excell also or .csv from the database.

Is it possible ?

best regards,

Hi, I am using xampp. How come i can create a Db with phpadmin and actually find a dir/folder with the table files but it doesn't exist with my joomla site. Do i use phpadmin in conjunction with joomla via the webserver where the site is hosted to access the sobi2db??
thanx
