I have put on all error reporting settings to maximum both in Joomla and Sobi but that's the only message it displays...?

Neo-

Installed your clone with no problems.  I attempted to clone the mod_directory_menu from 2.8.6 and recieved the following install error:
Code: [Select]
JInstaller::install: File '/home/xtreme/public_html/tmp/install_4878e4b788d6b/mod_directorymenu.php' does not exist
Joomla 1.5.3 - Legacy Mode - PHP 5.2

Any ideas?  Also, I am taking the plunge and Downloading Linux (Unbuntu) - going to run XP as a virtual machine, so thought you should know you inspired me  ;)

<-- Just wanted to see my penguin...  The upgrade to Linux Ubuntu was simple, I am only kicking myself for not doing it sooner!

Script appeared to execute fine - on install I get:

Code: [Select]
Component Install: Another Component is already using directory: "/home/xtreme/public_html/components/com_directory"
Shouldn't it create a script for my new name?  com_newclonename??

What is the name or your clone? com_newclonename? com_directory?

On my linux server I have done the following

1. created a directory /home/directory2
2. uploaded com_sobi2-RC2.8.7.2.zip and clone_sobi.sh to /home/directory2
3. run the command "unzip com_sobi2-RC2.8.7.2.zip"
4. run the command "sh clone_sobi.sh"
5. named it as "directory2"
6. described it as "directory2"

Zip command is not found so now use my pc.

7. download the directory2 directory to my pc
8. righthand click on the directory2 folder and send it to zip which creates a zip file called directory2.zip
9. try to install component..... Bugger !!

Upload component - Failed
File /home/******/public_html/path001/media/install_48c1432714472/directory2/directory2.class.php does not exist!

That is correct because the script has not changed any of the file names.

So I have missed something fundamental here?

Hi,

I downloaded the bash script zip from Neos post and tried to clone the report_listing plugin, but without sucess. My problem seems to be similar to that of yourweb. The file names were intact, except for the name of the bash script itself, which changed to the name I gave.  :'( I then renamed the files manually and tried to install the plugin, but without success...

Any idea?

I used this script to create the extensions clone for the demo site and as You can see it works perfectly.
Have You any error message? Maybe some library is missing?
However sed and tr are standard Linux programs!

Hi Neo,

In my case the script didn't handle "report" (Report_listing plugin), whereas all "Sobis" had been changed. I fixed that manually, and the cloned plugin is working now...  ;)
