Topic: Paid image icon upload error

Joomla 1.5.11
SOBI2 2.9.2.1
PHP 5.2.4

When trying to upload a paid image icon it posts this error:

Warning: imagecolorsforindex() [function.imagecolorsforindex]: Color index 255 out of range in /home/httpd/vhosts/XX-mysite-XX.com/httpdocs/components/com_sobi2/sobi2.class.php on line 1690
Is this a bug?

OK, so is this just a stupid question? I searched the boards before posting and the only other references to similar issue are old but I tried the fixes anyway with no success. 
Thanks in advance for any suggestion as this is an important feature I must restore.
