Specs for plugins?

I'm trying to find out what some of the plugins allow but can't seem to find anything much.
For example, Media Gallery, the description says it allows all kinds of media files. I see a little configuration options but that does not tell me anything about system requirements such as mencoder, mplayer, ffmpeg, file size limits, etc.

Where can I find that type of information?
