IE Operation Aborted - EASY FIX!
« on: 04. March 2009, 02:51:40 »

Stop looking through a million .js files and follow these 4 easy steps:

1. Download this awesome component: ReReplacer - search and replace
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/edition/replace/4336/details

2. After installing it, add a new item called something like Domready Replace.

3. In the Search & Replace section: Search - domready  Replace - load

4. In the Search Areas section: Everywhere

Save the item and access your entry form from the frontend. Simple as could be.
The great thing is that if you un-installed the ReReplacer your original files are intact.

For a detailed explanation of the cause of this problem,

Great job....there had already been a forum setup with this issue by physically going in and changing the coding...this is a great alternative. Thank you for sharing!!!

Here's the link to the other option: http://www.sigsiu.net/forum/index.php/topic,8984.70.html I'll be posting a link on that post to your thread.

Hmmmm only one issue.  Cost of doing the actual replacement and looking in all files to do.  So is there any noticeable sloooooow down?

As this solutions seems to be promising.

I didn't notice any slowdown...it really is a great component to have I think with the other options. I've tested it on my test site and it seems to be working like a charm.

I have tested on my  local server and it works great. Had to do it the old way yesterday when I upgraded to joomla 1.59 and had sobi post ready with how to change doomready, it was a bit of a panic getting it all done, now this should be good for next time I upgrade Joomla.

Cheers.

Yeah I hear ya.  All these one-off changes makes it hard to upgrade.

I just don't mean with sobi.  It's everything else too.  Sobi2 is pretty good as my one-off changes are strictly cosmetic and leo and trinity seem to do a good job with releasing new fixes.

Astounded would be an understatement.  The ADD ENTRY function stopped working in SOBI2 and I couldn't find the problem so I did exactly what was advised and the problem vanished!  That's it!  I didn't have to do anything but install the component.  Thank you so much.  It's good to be a part of this community!

I haven't noticed any affect on performance.

Hi all,

I just installed Re reloader and also see no performance changes... In my case the change had been made by the web developer helping me and I forgot to make the manual change after upgrading to 1.5.10... It does seem that this extension helps with learners like myself that are not so confident editing code.

:)
