Duplicate Breadcrumb Categories
« on: 17. September 2009, 22:29:32 »
Using: Sobi 2.9.2.3, SOBI SEF 1.6, Joomla 1.5.14

When I go to the details page of an entry, I get the following in the breadcrumbs:

Site Name - Category - Category - Entry Title

On a sub category it displays:

Site Name - Category - Category - Sub Category

It should be:

Site Name - Category - Entry Title

Site Name - Category - Sub Category

I followed the steps from this thread: http://www.sigsiu.net/forum/index.php/topic,17274.0.html
when I installed SEF 1.6.  I then tried Trinity's solution from here: http://www.sigsiu.net/forum/index.php/topic,15079.0/highlight,breadcrumb.html and many other variances of yes and no for the selections in the plugin manager but still had the duplicate category name.

I attached the debug information if any one has an idea what may be wrong.

The Urls are displaying properly.  There is not a duplicate category showing.

I have faced this problem in Sobi2 version 2.9.2.2 and 2.9.2.3 on 2 different sites. I will look into this more over the next few days and post more information for debugging.

This only happens if you use the Joomla menu to link to a category in Sobi2. If you remove the Joomla menu link to the category, the breadcrumb goes back to being correct.

I apologize for English
Had the same problem

In general settings has included the item
"Force Unique Menu-Id"
Put "no" to all work correctly.

I am not seeing where to do this.  Where is General Settings?

I am not seeing where to do this.  Where is General Settings?

Inside the Sobi2 Admin area, click Configuration in the left column.

First tab to show is General and it's at the bottom of the first section there:

Force Unique Menu-Id: Yes or No

Set it to No.

Why didn't I find this answer before? Everything works fine now with breadcrumbs!   :D

Natascha,

If you are referring to Joomla!/SOBI2/SobiSEF - SEF URL's and breadcrumb/pathway construction, then perhaps it is because I wrote this on 28-Jan-2010 (6 days ago - as of today)?

... and I keep revising it to try and more clearly explain the issues - (Last revision 2-Feb-2010)

Trinity

Hallo Trinity,

https://www.kinderhilfe-netzwerk.de/index.php?option=com_sobi2&catid=34&Itemid=435 (siehe Bild.jpg)
