How time flies!
And another year has passed. Joomla! 3.1 is available and we finally released SobiPro 1.1 Beta which has a completely revised user interface using Bootstrap. And the stable version of SobiPro 1.1 will be available soon.
With Joomla! 3.1 and SobiPro 1.1 you have a good team at hand to build a professional website.
We also made a lot new friends and met old acquaintances on several Joomla! events we were attending in the past year. We hope to see you all again on J and Beyond next week - tickets are still available :).
Also this year we want to present some impressive numbers:
- SobiPro 1.0 has been downloaded over 130 thousand times.
- SobiPro 1.1, although Beta, has been downloaded nearly 3000 times.
- SobiPro has been already translated into 27 languages and our translations teams are working on additional 12 languages which will be available soon.
- Our forum community has grown up to nearly 30.000 users which wrote about 160.000 posts in over 34.000 topics.
- The JED lists already 55 extensions available for SobiPro.
- The SobiPro Facebook fan page has more than 6000 Likes, nearly 140 users are interested in SobiPro on Google Plus and more than 8000 people are following us on Twitter.
We would like to say thank you to our active and helpful community which makes it fun to work with. Thank you to all who helped us with translations for SobiPro, with community support and by developing extensions for SobiPro.
We released the very first version of the Sobi component at May 25, 2006. So we are celebrating the 7th birthday of Sobi today. As a small gift we would like to offer a 20% discount to all SobiPro Club memberships for the next two weeks using code "Sobi7bday" in the Sigsiu.NET Shop.

 Notifications application version 2.0 for SobiPro 1.1 now available for download.
The Notifications App sends emails to users/authors and/or administrators on events like add, edit, publish, approve and payment. It also sends the emails for the Review & Rating App or the Contact Form Field (for Contact, Report or Claim Listings) if they are installed.
This new version of the Notifications app is SobiPro 1.1 compliant and has now the possibility to use a distribution list.
Arabic, Czech, Persian, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese Languages added. Many thanks to our translation teams.

 W We released SobiPro 1.1.0 Beta3 today!
With the release of SobiPro 1.1.0 Beta3 we are again one step closer to the stable version. As the number of found bugs are not very high we consider this version already very stable but we still encourage you to test this release and report problems in the SobiPro Issues Tracker.
We expect to be able to release SobiPro 1.1.0 stable end of June!
Don't forget, moving from SobiPro 1.0 to SobiPro 1.1 is an upgrade. It should be very easy to upgrade your existing SobiPro installation. However, it is likely that some templates for SobiPro 1.0 will need modification to work with SobiPro 1.1.

The Sigsiu.NET team is happy to announce the availability of SobiPro 1.1 Beta.
What is this version is for?
This version should be used only for testing purposes. We would like to encourage you however to test this release and report any problems in the SobiPro Issues Tracker in order to get a stable version of SobiPro 1.1 soon. Every feedback about the new version is very appreciated.
What are the new features of SobiPro 1.1?
- Category Chooser Field with different category selection methods
implemented
- Administrator UI redesigned using Bootstrap library and new XML
templates
- Direct Entry Selection via Joomla! Menu Manager
- Template override for specific categories and entries via Joomla! Menu
Manager
- Joomla! 3.0 compatibility (needs at least Joomla! 3.0.2)
- Possibility to delete (instead of unpublish) an entry from frontend
- View and menu link for own entries
- View for all entries of an specific user
- View and menu link for entries added in a particular date period
- Category and Entry Alias for URL
- Possibility to define new permission to allow or disallow search function
usage
- XML cache view implemented; XML output is stored into a XML file and reused
in next request if there were no changes
- Possibility to define different template methods (see default template) to
plug-in an action between (and whilst) submit and save entry actions
- Section crawler - possibility to trigger complete cache creation
- Simple translation method for sections, categories, entries and fields from

Will I be able to update SobiPro 1.0.x to 1.1?
Moving to SobiPro 1.1 from 1.0 is an upgrade. It should be very easy to upgrade your existing SobiPro installation. However, it is likely that some templates for SobiPro 1.0 will need modification to work with SobiPro 1.1.

What's next?
As we put a lot of effort and time into the redesign of the administrator interface, the current documentation and all existing application need also to be revised. Although all applications should work on Joomla! 2.5 in a so called legacy mode.
