SobiPro

SobiPro is a powerful directory extension for the Joomla! Content Management System that is designed to easily create multiple directories or content types. SobiPro will allow you and your site visitors to submit, search, filter and view custom content on your Joomla! powered website with ease.

The power of SobiPro is in the amount of customization you have available for your specific website content needs. SobiPro allows you to create a functional directory that lets your website visitors submit entries from the front-end. Entry submissions can be free, or you can charge per field if you choose. The entries can be listed in multiple categories, and you can customize all of the output views of SobiPro through the powerful SobiPro Template system.

SobiPro Component Features

Sections - Multi-Content

One of the most asked for features of SobiPro is the ability to create multiple directories, or content types, in a single, easy to manage control panel. You can create multiple directories, known as Sections. Each Section has their own categories, entries, fields, templates, ACL rules and advanced search and sorting filters. With the multi-content ability of SobiPro, site builders can create a Business Directory, Product Directory, Documentation Download and even a News and Information blog all within the same installation of SobiPro.

Categories

SobiPro categories give you the ability to display your content in an unlimited nested category tree structure for easy organization and layout. Content can be listed in multiple categories at the same time.

Entries

Entries are the true heart of the SobiPro Directory Component. A listing is created from the administrator control panel or by users through the front-end of your website using the SobiPro Entry Form. Once an entry has been submitted, you can choose to have it auto-publish or after an admin approves the listing entry. Entries are shown in the category list view known as Vcards, and each entry can be shown in a single Detail view by clicking the title or a 'read more' type link. Entries can be a single field of content or you can create several custom fields for each entry.

Custom Fields

Administrators can create custom fields of various types to meet your specific needs, or the needs of your site visitors and users. Currently, you can create field types such as input box, text area, multiple select list, check box group, single select list, radio buttons, image, URL and email. The unique design of SobiPro allows for additional field types to be installed through the built-in Application Manager. One of the upcoming field types will be a download field. Each Section within SobiPro has it's own set of custom fields.

SobiPro Template System

The SobiPro component features a unique template system that allows you to customize the look and layout of every single page of your directory or content section. From the header of the Section page, to the individual search form and listings. Every view has a template in SobiPro. No core hacks are needed to make your content look exactly like you want it to. The output of SobiPro is XML data, and uses a mixture of XSLT, HTML and CSS to create the look and feel of your pages. SobiPro even has a built in code editor in the Control Panel so you can make changes to the template files without the need of separate code editing software.

Advanced Search Form

The SobiPro Search Form is one of the features that make SobiPro a very powerful tool for site visitors. You can set any field to show up in the search form, or users can choose to simply use the general search box for a quick list of results for a specific word or phrase. Another great feature is the ability to set the priority of each field in the Fields Manager of the Control Panel. For example, if you set the priority for Title of Entries to 10, and all other fields in the listing has a priority of 9 or below, the results with the search term in the Title field will be listed first on the page. This allows you to tune your search results based on your specific user needs.

Access Control List(ACL)

The SobiPro ACL does not override the Joomla! ACL, but instead, compliments it by allowing you to create rules for specific User Groups, Sections and Frontend Permissions. This allows you to control what users can do in SobiPro, from Access to Editing, Creation to Approval, even allowing a specific group to Edit Admin Fields or Skip Payments.

SobiPro Applications

With the built in Application Manager, SobiPro has made it possible to extend the core SobiPro component to include additional features and functionality. Known as SobiPro Apps, you have several extensions already available. The possibilities are endless and more Apps are being developed all the time. SobiPro constantly seeks feedback from SobiPro Club Members to find out what type of features or function you want to see most and creates those Apps based on our users needs.

Integrated Application Installer

SobiPro allows for the installation of Applications, Language packs, Custom Templates and Updates all through the integrated Applications Manager and Installer. And for SobiPro Club Members it's even easier to get new Apps through the SobiPro Club Repository.

Automated SobiPro Repository

Do you want 1 Click installs for updates, or possibly need a new application to extend your SobiPro component? If you're a member of the SobiPro Club, you won't ever have to leave the Admin area of your site to get instant updates or the latest Applications. Simply click 'Fetch Updates' from the Application Installer screen and the list of Updates and Applications will automagically appear. Choose what you want and click install. Your done!

Alpha Menu Filter

Another way for users to Sort listings in the Frontend of SobiPro is through the Alpha Index Menu. With SobiPro, you can choose which fields to add to the Alpha Index that users can select from the front end of the site. So for example, let's say you chose to add the City field to the Alpha Index as well as the Title field. Now users simply choose City or Title from the dropdown box next to the Alpha Menu, then click the letter A to select all listings with a City that begins with the letter A.
