Hi.

Problem #1: Sub-categories are set for name ascending in my template settings, but it is not appearing in that order in the front-end. This was the case even prior to the new update.

Problem #2: Search results are also not appearing in alphabetical order.

Please advise.

Is there anyone available to help resolve this major issue?

Attached is a screen shot of search results out of alpha order.

I am having the same problem with my categories. They sort alphabetically in the backend, but present haphazardly on the front end.

Has anyone else had this problem???

I found the answer:

From the SobiPro component page go to:

Section Configuration -> general config
On right side of screen, select the tab Template -> go to
Category Settings -> Subcategory Settings (below Template)
Set Order By to Name Ascending

I also set:

Tab Alpha Listing Settings: (select field names)
Primary Field: Name
Additional Fields: City State

I made these changes, and now my pages are sorted alphabetically.

Hi Pat,

Thank you for your diligence applied to this issue here, but I already have these settings configured in the backend and my frontend entries are in alpha order. The problem is in the search results. When I do a search for a "Region" (in my case), the results turn in all entries for that particular Region, but they are not in alpha order.

Seems to me SobiPro should respond to this issue since the issue is germane to the base component.

Thanks anyway!

Search results are always ordered by search priority, there is no possibility to change it without custom development.

Hi Sikorski

Where in SobiPro documentation does it state, search results are 'ordered by search priority'? Are you a SobiPro tech? How do you know this is the case?

I'm SobiPro supporter
https://www.sigsiu.net/sobipro/the-team#Slawek

There is doc in the documentation which describe how exactly search priority works
https://www.sigsiu.net/center/304-search-priority

so believe me ;) by default SobiPro always order results by priority. You can eventually set 2nd search ordering in the section configuration, but always first results will be ordered by priority.

Sikora, thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to access the documentation you referred nor am I able to do anything about the issue because I'm not under a Membership Plan. I do see where you are a SobiPro supporter and I can now appreciate your responses.

Thank you.

BTW - There is not a "set in alpha order" listed as one of the sort orders you can configure under Second Entries Ordering.

They have:

Random, least popular, most popular, oldest and newest first, Expires next first, expires next last, Least recently modified first, and Recently modified first.

Do you think they will ever add by Alpha Order ascending and descending???

To be honest I don't know in this moment about any plans to implement ordering by fields, but who knows what future bring...

Again, I think ordering in alpha order is just as important and germane to the base component as these other sort orders.

Hi Sikor

Which level of SobiPro do need to purchase in order to get custom development and have "Title Ascending/Descending" added to the list of 2nd search results?

Please advise.

Hi

This would need custom development what isn't part of the standard support. You would need to use our contact form to ask developers about implementing such functionality at your site:
